a fun marathon
Since I haven't posted on the blog in awhile I thought I might take the opportunity to tell you a little about a race I volunteered for this past weekend. Casey and I ended up being course marshalls (at mile 20) for the boulder backroads marathon which is this incredibly hilly but very scenic run.... You can imagine what some runners were looking like by the time they got to us. The best part about volunteering is all the free stuff you get from it... we got 5 pint glasses, 2 beanies, 2 sun hats, free food, free beer post-race, free marathon bars, and some coffee to start the day off. I think we got more stuff than the actual racers plus it was a whole lot easier to watch the race than run it. Im not sure if you guys have heard of that guy, Dean, who is trying to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days but he was running boulder backroads as #7 in his journey so it was pretty cool to see him run. well.... I'll be running a 5-mile race 2 weeks from now, getting tired of all these "longer" races. I hope everyone is having fun.
