The Things You Do!

It amazes me the things that you have to force yourself to do when you work a 40 hour week AND train. I was up at 4:45 this morning so I could run by 5:00 and be done by 6:00 so I could get ready for 8 hours of financial babysitting. The crazy thing is that the workout felt GREAT!! My heartburn has subsided substantially as well. The thing I have learned about Dean is that the paces always seem hard on paper, but when you do them it's easy (well, easier). I can't believe I hit my paces in the shape that I am in right now. Oh well, can't complain.

So now my day will consist of work, a nap at lunchtime, a walk with the dog when I get home, and some circuits... maybe a swim if I have time... a fun swim though :)

Hope everyone has a good day. The dog in the pic is Luna. She's our crazy shephard mix we got at the Wake County SPCA back in October.

Hey guys, here's some good non-running related news..... Casey got a job out here, he starts July 10th but will be out here Jul 1st. yay! It's actually a really good job too with benefits, 401K, all that good stuff.

COFFEE

So, yup, it was one of those mornings .... I spilled a medium size coffee fully on the floor of my advisors office - and he was like "just leave, it - it'll dry," but I'm like "but it's going to stain, I can still get up some of the liquid," and he's like, "naw, what can you do really." Great, so now there will be a giant stain on my advisors carpeted floor - my legacy.

Anyway, point is - this is already fun!!! My two cents from the past two years and doing this post collegiate running. One, I swear you train harder when you train, but might miss a workout or a day here or there - I'm not ready to post my actual habits. Two, meets are freaking annoying .... try to get a potential schedule together before a season starts - some big meets are picky on open athletes - so, check out the D2 school schedules - while keeping in mind that it might not be worth ($$) it to drive 3 hrs to win a race by 8 sec, with a time you consider crappy. And three, get used to answering 'so you can still run college races, how?'

Otherwise, it's also all up to you - Dean has never been upset or cared if I've called and said, 'so, yeah, I'm sorry, I sorta took last week off - I'll just go ahead and repeat it' - he would probably reply,'ok, what- you just feel tired' and then I'd say, yeah - and he'd say, you've gotta a life, sometimes that happens. Anyway, I've gotta go and get some more coffee!

bee sting

Yesterday I got stung by a bee on my ankle and now my whole foot is swelling and hurts to walk on. So, I have one cankle foot (sort of looks like my foot if I was 100 lbs heavier) and one normal one. Training schedule starts tomorrow.... hopefully will be able to run by then.

Confession

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say that I am so excited about this opportunity to be running with you ladies again. I must confess, I have taken a little over a year off from serious training, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. I am severely out of shape:( But this is just what I needed!! I am more determined than ever to fully explore my potential. I felt like I left college not really running to the level I could have, and I am ready to do that now. I guess time off helped me realize how much I took it for granted.

I am ready to rock!!!
